Housing isn’t that cheap here anymore. I’m in the Austin area where McMansions are running $500K+. I’ve been scouring home prices in CT on Realtor . com and its quite comparable to whI know it’s in the defense sector, which comes with some moral issues for me personally, but Electric Boat is always hiring, and is a pretty great place to work. Ayeah my dad has been working at Hartford for the past 5 years? his office from what I’ve seen is pretty nice and you can get free parking for Yard Goats games lollso willing to offer on the job training.ere I live now (+ y’all get basements and much larger lots).

I have desperately missed the boring stability of CT! We relocated from CT to Atlanta 10 years ago, and we are more than ready to sell our amazingly affordable home and downsize just to bFormer NY, PA, IL, and MI resident, currently CT, and CT is the hands-down winner. Your tax money doesn’t disappear. You can directly contact your representatives. The state is incredibly gorgeous and not many people know that, so the state/nat parks are wonderfule able to move back to a week governed state. Kemp has done nothing to stop Covid here, and the spread is out of control. I miss having competentl people in charge!

Can confirm. As the saying goes, the best time to plant a tree is 20 years ago. Basically, as long as you don’t buy/rent in a new development or McMansions in the ‘burbs, tons of big ol’ trees in older neighborhoods. Plus, it truly cuts down on my cooling needs with 100+ year old oaks and maples on the east, south, and west sides of my house. These trees are at least twice a tall as my 2 story house, and they have huge canopies. It makes it tough to grow a vegetable garden that requires 8+ hours of full sun, but we can’t have everything.
