I’ve also traveled with no money in Iceland! For two and a half weeks. Different from you though. I had friends who gave me free coupons for whale watching and whale eating. I also busked a lot and ended up with more money than I had when I arrived. And did plenty of dumpster diving, couchsurfing, hitchhiking, free hiking, skinny dipping in hot springs, Tuna Fishing Gifts Funny Fisherman Shirt touring water falls and geysers. Didn’t see northern lights though since it was 24/7 light in May/June Ive been sitting lackluster and depressed, missing the road. Thanks for your tale. Its warmed my heart! Did you by chance mark a map with any of the good spots etc? I need to hit it iceland when i get a hold of a warmer sleeping bag! I barely made it up into norway before the snows this year.

I updated Iceland’s TrashWiki page with a bunch of info a few days ago. 🙂 Selfoss was my prefered spot to dumpster dive in all of Iceland. Also, Iceland isn’t as cold as you might think. Check it out! I had asked a few questions about Iceland on this very sub a few weeks ago, so maybe some of you might recall my name. Cheers! I hope you will enjoy the story. 🙂 Tuna Fishing Gifts Funny Fisherman Shirt After another look at the icebergs, we got a ride with two chinese women going all the way back to the capital, and which dropped us off in Hvolsvöllur, where we met up again with the 2 guys that had hosted us the other night. This time, only the Icelandic-speaker was there to greet us, which guaranteed us a funny night.

Some day, we left the house for an adventure without our backpacks. We took a look at the Kirkjufell mountain: supposedly so beautiful (on the Top 10 of the World’s list), but to me quite disappointing. We also got a lucky ride from Grundarfjördur to Stykkisholmur, where we had the chance to hit a dumpster where an employee helped us out with translations and brought us more goods almost on demand. We started the hitch back to our place quite late, Tuna Fishing Gifts Funny Fisherman Shirt and were not lucky for a long time, until someone brought us back to Grundarfjördur, from where we also waited a long time before finally getting a ride to Olafsvik’s junction from where we talked someone into bringing us home (he somehow knew the persons hosting us!).
