I hate glitter. Like. Really hate it. My cousin got us 3 glittery dresses in a row for my daughter. Each one I bit my tongue and after letting my daughter play with it for the day or two I bagged them up and put them with the old toys for a few months. Don’t trouble yourself too much about other people.My daughter is 5 now and every Christmas we donate stuff and have hand off the toys, food, clothes. I think you are never going to be able to control your MIL, so your best bet is to focus on how your kid reacts to it. Depending on your kid’s age and knowledge of others’ needs, could you have a discussion with them about how grandma gives them so many blankets and things that you think it would be great to take the doubles and donate them to other kids in need?
