They did but they called them Jacaranda or something, their being Japanese. It’s been a while since I’ve studied these so my memory may be failing. You’re right about it being Jacaranda, but that’s a different kind of tree that is common in South America. It is similar in color and grain to Brazilian rosewood. Nice tone, but a little different than classic Brazilian. How is the pickguard? Is it still firmly attached to the body? If so, you’re very luck. The customer had a change of heart and didn’t want to pay for all the work so he decided to let me keep the guitar, which I was okay with. I really liked it, especially with a traditional bridge and a bone nut and saddle. Yeah, I saw that. Once that pickguard comes off of the guitar it’s toast. I brought mine to an authorized Martin repair place to re-glue it after I pulled it off, but they effed it up. They were given to crew who helped with the landing (and a few notable people like President Nixon), I imagine 1014 was just enough to cover that number + maybe a couple extras I believe Made In 1969 52 Years Of Being Awesome Quarantine Edition T-Shirt Nixon and all other elected officials that were offered them had to turn them down because they exceeded the statutory value limit for gifts by quite a bit. The watches and the letters rejecting them are held by the Omega Museum.
