I stopped having to wear a suit to work in 2002. Since then I have only ever ironed anything for weddings, funerals and black tie events. I remember the Sunday night horror of ironing five shirts for the week ahead. Never again. I never iron unless I’m wearing a shirt for something like an interview.Legend Since February 1992 30th Birthday T-Shirt The creases don’t last once you hang your clothes up. I’m 29 and have never touched an iron. If you’ve never touched an iron then how did you get those interview shirts ironed? Some sort of puppet string situation where you remote iron stuff with your hands being a metre above all the action?

Hah, Americans are wrong about a LOT of things. Not gonna defend dates or imperial system. Nah, imperial system beats metric for me, and while I’m on the topic, decimalised currency is fucking shit tier compared to the old systemI bought and iron and an ironing board several years ago, and they’ve only been used once – to press on some transfer letters onto a running vest for a marathon.I just can’t imagine spending any fraction of my life ironing, Legend Since February 1992 30th Birthday T-Shirt when I could be doing something else.

I’ve got an iron somewhere, it was a gift from my friends to set my flat up after I got divorced, it’s still in its box I think. That was 12 years ago.I only iron for interviews,Legend Since February 1992 30th Birthday T-Shirt weddings or funerals Clothes do quite well just taking them out the washing machine and putting them on a hanger overnight to dry I haven’t been in paid employment for over three years but I iron bed clothes, my t shirts, shorts and skirts. And I’d iron Mr Trellis’s work shirts when he had a sales job. Oh and I iron tea towels and face masks. The first because that way my linen cupboard looks fabulously neat and tidy which makes me happy and the second because I don’t think a 40 degree wash is hot enough to kill bacteria.
