Two to three weeks notice is ideal IMO.Anything more and speakers can get over anxious with speaking assignment being out there so far. It depends on the speaker that has to give the talk. There are many people that hate public speaking and they will be anxious for a whole month before they have to give a talk. I think it is definitely reasonable to give people two weeks notice before they have to give a talk.
