If you don’t mind movies with subtitles, I’d suggest The Way He Looks. It’s about a blind kid in Brazil who stays falling for the new guy in his class, and any issues that come up are all settled in a warm, positive way. The classic Beautiful Thing is a good gay movie, has many of the troupes you mention but doesn’t leave you feeling depressed more aww young love First truly Gay movie I ever watched. Around 96 when I lived in Tallahassee and I actually found it for rent on VHS at an independent rental store.I Am A Simple Man I Like Boos and Playing Cornhole T-Shirt It’s one of the best for me. I cried multiple times watching it. It just brought back some memories both good and bad when I first discovered my sexuality. The songs are lovely too.

I dunno, kinda enjoyed the movie Shelter. Had the stereotypical tropes in it that you talk about in this post but has a happy ending also Thank you! I scrolled all the way down thinking, damn is no one gonna mention Shelter? Yes it has some tropes, but not in a bad way and it had a really beautiful ending. Haha, I respect that. I watched it for the first I Am A Simple Man I Like Boos and Playing Cornhole T-Shirt time this year and it didn’t keep me interested either. In theory the storyline isn’t bad, I just lost interest part way through. Shelter I watched when I was 19 (9 years ago) and just coming out and starting to accept myself, it was just an enjoyable movie.

I’ve not been able to get through the full movie of Call Me By Your Name. Maybe I’m being too critical and not giving it a chance. Call My By Your Name def gave me plenty of boners, I’d like to thank Tim Chalamet fucking a peach for those lol. But yeah it just ended up another super depressing gay movie with a super depressing ending. That ending of Latter Days was… Beautiful. But you’ve gotta stick it out to get to it … I Am A Simple Man I Like Boos and Playing Cornhole T-Shirt And the directors cut or whatever they call it with that one particular extra scene is…an intense watch. I remember when it came out in theaters, a large group of us got together and went to the Regal that was showing it. Fun times.
