I guess he wanted the original.Edit: Electric Light Orchestra Out of the blue Tour 78 T-shirt I say original, but I think the two versions were only two-ish years apart Mr. Blue Sky was used in a great Volkswagon Beetle commercial – that commercial actually encapsulates the monotony of office culture, so it would’ve been perfect for the show.

Considering the expense of licensing a show for the opening credits (they would have to pay pretty much every time it’s used, including syndication and home video sales), they would have almost certainly have just paid for a cover. And the opening of “Mr. Blue Sky” is the same, jaunty tone what they went with has. It’s strange how Electric Light Orchestra Out of the blue Tour 78 T-shirt I can totally imagine Mr. Blue Sky as the theme and it would have worked perfectly but at the same time the original song is also so incredibly perfect and iconic that I can’t imagine the show with anything else.

Like, you hear the song and you know what it is. Mr. Blue Sky still evokes that same type of energy and would have totally worked but it also would not have been the same. It’s hard to describe. I think the composer created a “feel alike” to Mr. Blue Sky. The office theme definitely has a bit more “energy” to it, Electric Light Orchestra Out of the blue Tour 78 T-shirt so there were probably notes. I think the office US theme song is very similar to a song by a Portland Post-Punk band, Quasi, called I Never Want to See You Again.
