I once hired a teacher who left the field for these same reasons, his stories where horrific; he never blamed the children, he blamed it on poor parenting. He spoke of how children’s behavior mimic the parents. African immigrants are really tough on their kids with high expectations and that’s why their kids succeed in America. The children of Nigerian immigrants are the most successful group in America. Of the Africans I know their attitudesBlack & Proud Every Month African American History Melanin T-Shirt towards hard work and education essentially mimic Chinese, Indian, Korean, sentiments towards work and school. I walk into my local African restaurant, and their kids are at the table studying, same as the local Chinese. Educated African coworkers of mine, same exact attitude, their kids go to the best schools and have high expectations of success on the. And it works great. Yeah, we have a growing Sudanese population where I live and their parents do not fuck around. They fought so hard to come to Australia and they want a better life for their kids, and that shit starts with doing a good job at school and working your ass off. In my year level this year (I’m a primary school teacher) we have a boy who arrived from China about three days before school started. He had limited conversational English and was too scared to talk. Not even half a year later and he’ll run up to you in the yard and have a full conversation, he’s pulled his English language reading level up from preschool level to Black & Proud Every Month African American History Melanin T-Shirt almost grade average. In less than 20 weeks. He’s the hardest working little boy I’ve ever met and Mum and Dad, despite speaking literally no English, are 100% behind him. Any immigrants parents are tough and have very high expectations. I’m Hispanic and my parents are immigrants. They always told me to try my best at school. In 7th grade I hated going to school and missed a lot and they whooped my ass a lot lol. Thinking back I was being silly and they only wanted to ensure I got an education.
